Whispering Hollow

★★★★★ 4.6 Editor rating

Whispering Hollow is a slow, moody adventure that trusts you to poke at everything. You wander a small village, examine objects, and piece together what happened to the people who left. There's no combat and no timer — just curiosity pulling you from one room to the next.

The puzzles are woven into the story rather than bolted on. A locked cellar isn't just a lock; it's tied to a letter you found and a memory a character shares. When it all clicks together the payoff is genuinely lovely. I got stuck twice and the gentle hint system nudged me without spoiling anything.

It's short — maybe four hours — but every scene is hand-crafted and the sound design does a lot of quiet heavy lifting. Play it with headphones at night. That's the way it's meant to be experienced.
